Whilst the weather gods aren’t being kind to us by scheduling the glorious days for during the week and the rain for the weekends this month, there’s still lots of opportunity to get out and about and enjoy our ‘hood.
Here’s a snippet of what’s on in the ‘hood this weekend/week.
Saturday October 20
Make your garden a great habitat for wildlife and Create a Backyard Frog Pond. Environment House are hosting a workshop from 10 to 11am at their shop at 125 King William Street, Bayswater. Tickets are $12 and available via their FB events page.
Sunday October 21
Following it’s much welcome 3 year reprieve from being shut down, the Inglewood Bowling & Sports Club is holding a Community Open Day from 10:30am to 4:30pm. There’s a BBQ, barefoot bowls, darts, white elephant stall and more. A lovely local club that needs community support to continue. And did I mention how cheap the drinks are?!
If you’ve ever fancied trying Dragon Boat racing (or I’ve piqued your interest now!) Perth Pirates are hosting their Perth Pirates Come & Try Day starting at 9am at the Maylands Sport & Recreation Club. Details on their FB event page.
Monday October 22
If you weren’t dog showed out last weekend (or you now have a taste for it!) the Inglewood Night Market is hosting their own Dogz in the ‘Wood event at the market this coming Monday. If you want your pooch on display at the dog show you need to register before the night – it’s in the Town Square (front of the library) and starts at 6:15pm. Details on their FB event page.
Also on Monday evening is the Rotary Club of Mount Lawley free information night at the Mount Lawley Golf Club starting at 6:00pm. If you’re interested in what they’ve been doing and planning and curious as to whether you’d like to be involved and give back to the community pop along!
And that’s a wrap for this week – enjoy!
