If you’re not hitting the beach, river or a local park to enjoy our first taste of pre-Summer here’s a snippet of what’s on in our ‘hood this coming weekend/week.

Friday 9 November

Start your weekend with a Friday unwind (gentle slow flow community yoga class). It’s an hour of gentle slow flow Hatha Yoga at 15 Railway Parade Mount Lawley every Friday hosted by Soul Yoga Perth. Tickets are $10 or if you bring a friend it’s only $15 for two. Yoga mats provided and beginners welcome.

Saturday 10 November

It’s Open House Perth 2018 (also Sunday). There’s an exciting program of residential & commercial properties to check out this year which will delight those of us that love architectural and interior design. I’m hoping to see Dollhouse 2.0 (pictured) in North Perth as well the Dog House in Mt Lawley (City of Vincent portion of course) and The Ash by Dalecki Design in Morley. Head to the website to download the program for this weekend and follow their FB event page for any changes.

St Columba’s School in Bayswater is hosting their 2018 Spring Twilight Fair  from 2pm to 7pm. It’s a family friendly, non smoking event with entertainment and special guests such as basketballer Shawn Redhage from the Perth Wildcats. There’s food trucks, raffles and stalls but it’s cash only so don’t forget your wallet!

Sunday 11 November

Transition Town Vincent along with Vincent Community Kitchen are hosting the Vincent Community Kitchen – Community Feast at the North Perth Town Hall where residents are invited to donate vegetarian ingredients and participate in an afternoon of preparation and cooking from 3pm before sitting down to enjoy the spoils at 6pm. The idea is to save food from landfill whilst building community – beautiful!

And relative newcomer Firefly Gifts  on Whatley Cres in Maylands is having their Opening Night/Sale from 4pm. There’s 10% everything in store and Christmas is only 7 weeks away so if you haven’t been already it’s a great incentive to go and check it out!
