Well, maybe not quite.  But WED on Beaufort is certainly more than just the wedding shop it’s often mistaken for.

I popped in last week to meet the guys behind WED (WED being an acronym for wedding, event and design), have a look through their shop and chat about their goal to make client functions and events look a million bucks without them having to spend it.

The team at WED on Beaufort offer a range of function and event related services from decorations, flowers and styling right through to full production, co-ordination and management. The projects they work on range from intimate parties and corporate gatherings through to large scale weddings and major fashion events, the latter including labels like Betty Tran, Ae’lkemi & Zara Bryson as well as the recent Pierrot’s Model Search (pic below).

Flowers (real and real touch) are integral to WED’s work and they also have a number of corporate clients for whom they do regular fresh flower arrangements (they supplied my last agency with flowers every week and they were always different and always gorgeous).

Glen, a self taught floral artist, creates the majority of WED’s spectacular floral arrangements as well as overseeing event design and styling. Glen is assisted by Ryan and Chris in the marketing and business side respectively and the team has built partnerships with caterers, venues, photographers and other suppliers to provide a one-stop event & function planning shop for those that don’t have the time or expertise to do it for themselves.

In the time I spent chatting to the guys it sounded like no event was too big or small to take on and that they love having a variety of jobs and projects to keep them busy. It’s wonderful to speak to people that are enthusiastic and positive about the work that they do and who seem to genuinely like their clients – even the ones that keep changing their mind on their venue when the wedding is only one month away!

If you’re looking for some help in planning your next function and event, some terrific flowers and centrepieces or some great design ideas, gifts or decorative bling, I’d encourage you to pop into WED on Beaufort to chat to Glen or Ryan and see what they could do.  The shop is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and Saturday by appointment.  You can also check them out on their website, Facebook page, Twitter, Google+ or Instagram accounts.
