There’s been lots of talk this week about the recent shock closures of some of Beaufort Street’s most well known businesses.

Whilst things like rents we can’t control, there are still lots of things we CAN do to help keep our much beloved strip active and thriving. Here are three:

  1. Support local
  2. Show yourself supporting local
  3. Join a local community group

Support local

Beaufort Street has a plethora of great retail & food outlets, not to mention the iconic Astor Cinema and other fabulous amenities.

Eat local! If you’re on a budget, check out the cheap mid week specials that most of the restaurants and cafes offer. Did you know that Must do a Love Your Local night most Tuesdays where you can get wines and snack plates from $5?! Or that Ischia do $10 Margherita pizzas between 12 and 6pm Monday to Friday? And Cecchi’s do selected $10 wood fired pizzas between 4 to and 6pm Tuesday to Friday! Keeping up with what’s on offer is easy if – just like and follow your faves on FB and Insta.

Shop local! We have Perth’s best bookstores, great homewares, independent clothing stores and specialty gift shops for adults and kids – you name it, you can probably find it. Forget couch surfing and stuff the mega shopping centres – get out and about on the strip to source your next gift or personal purchase – make the choice to put your hard earned cash into the hands of hard working locals and their families.

How much is my property worth?
We'll prepare a full appraisal report of your property based on our vast local knowledge and market activity.
No addresses found. This could be a new address, or you may need to check the spelling.

Use local! Need a doctor, dentist, haircut, new pair of specs or a chemist? There’s heaps to choose from (even real estate agents!) on Beaufort Street. And better yet your local small business usually employs and supports local too.

Show yourself supporting local

Post your pics on Insta & FB to encourage family and friends to get out and about and support our wonderful local businesses and social precincts. Keeping your fave a secret doesn’t help them survive!

Join a local community group

If you’re keen to get more involved or think you’ve got some useful skills to share then why not join one of the very active local community groups that support Beaufort Street namely, the Beaufort Street Network or Inglewood on Beaufort? Both are made up of passionate local residents and businesses owners committed to working with stakeholders on activating the strip and helping our suburbs be a great place to live. Check out their FB pages or websites for details.

If everyone does just ONE MORE THING locally each week we can help boost our local business and breathe more life back into our strip.
