If you’re thinking of selling there is one thing that you MUST do, and that is CLEAN.

And by clean, I don’t mean a bit of a tidy, but the best spring clean & freshen up that you can possibly give your property inside and out.

And don’t just think about how clean it looks, but how it smells as well. You might be oblivious now to the essence of your fur baby, but I can bet you your buyers won’t be – they’ll sniff him or her out as soon as they walk through the door.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years of real estate it’s that buyers don’t mind DATED, but they do mind DIRTY.

In slow or sluggish real estate markets, buyers have both time and choice. They want, and will wait for, properties that are move in ready, where they don’t need to do or spend anything straight away. Buyers assume properties that are dirty are poorly maintained, which puts them off buying. And let’s be honest, who really loves cleaning?!

How much is my property worth?

Clean homes, even if a little tired, come across as being loved homes, and most buyers prefer the idea of buying something that’s been looked after rather than a home that feels unloved and neglected.

So if you’re thinking of selling invest what you can in cleaning. A weekend could, quite literally, save you thousands.
