Bedford marks the beginning of the ‘burbs, albeit with a lowercase ‘b’. You’ve left behind the cafés and restaurants for which Inglewood is renowned and are nearer to major urban shopping centres (such as the Galleria in Morley), but still within sight (quite literally, from some streets) of the Perth CBD which is only 6kms away.

You can easily get to anywhere you want to go from Bedford, courtesy of the major roads that surround or cut through it – namely Grand Promenade (or Grand Prom for short), Beaufort Street, and Walter Road. It has a bowling club, parks, ovals, and a smattering of take-aways, delis, restaurants, and personal service businesses but mostly consists of low density, wide, tree-lined residential streets – exactly what attracted residents to live here in the first place.
