Locals Geoff and Emma are sharing their passion for cheese through their new venture,  The Little Cheese Shop, on Whatley Crescent in Bayswater.

In the shop you’ll find a range of fine cheese from Australia and around the world, including perennial favourites like Camembert, Cheddar and Feta as well as  harder to source varieties like Roquefort. And whilst the product might be premium the prices are likely to be comparable or better than your local gourmet supermarket, which is even more reason to pop in and support this gorgeous new store (a spot price check on the Calendar Marinated Feta revealed that it was cheaper here than at 2nd Avenue IGA).

Geoff, a qualified chef, knows his cheese, having spent six years working at Blue Cow and travelling to France, Italy and Tasmania to experience artisan cheese making first hand. If you’re not sure what to pick Geoff or Emma will walk you through the selections on offer and provide helpful suggestions for wine, beer (yes beer!), food or platter pairings.

How much is my property worth?
We'll prepare a full appraisal report of your property based on our vast local knowledge and market activity.
No addresses found. This could be a new address, or you may need to check the spelling.

And to complete your cheese feast the shop stocks a range of delicious accompaniments: pates, rillette and terrine from Poach Pear; fruit pastes and relishes; a wide variety of biscuits and crackers; and of course, cheese boards!

Geoff and Emma’s plans for the shop in the coming weeks and months include hosting wine and cheese nights, beer and cheese nights, offering a selection of baked savoury goods like tarts or muffins on Saturday mornings and hopefully soon, adding a coffee machine.  They’ll happily do up platters for entertaining and the shop would make a lovely space for small private functions.

Currently they’re open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 6:00 but that may change – so check out their Facebook Page for the latest details.
