Sitting on the site formerly occupied by Fiorentina’s at 400 Fitzgerald Street, opposite the North Perth Plaza carpark, is Dolcetto Patisserie & Cafe, owned and operated by the former owners of … Fiorentina! After taking a break to focus on family, Angela and Joe decided to come back to the industry they know and love to once again spoil their clients with their fantastic range of cakes and sweet treats, plus Fiori coffee and a host of breakfast and lunch offerings that can be enjoyed in the cafe or taken away.
On the day hubby and I popped in for lunch we had a choice of the daily blackboard specials, menu or items on display. After much deliberation we went with the Soup of the Day (with gluten free bread for me) and a generous serve of quiche and salad – both were filling and full of flavour.
If your tastes run towards the sweeter things in life (or if you have room post lunch) there’s a huge selection of freshly baked and preservative free Italian Biscuits (sold by the weight with lots of gluten free options – the Baci biscuits are irresistible!), tortes, cakes and pastries. Orders for special occasions are welcome and catering is also available.
Dolcetto is a one of those rare, non pretentious family run businesses that knows what it is and does it well – a high quality patisserie combined with a cafe that serves good food and coffee at appropriate prices. The sweets are fancy but the cafe is unpretentious – it’s modern, clean, comfy and best of all, welcoming. Dolcetto is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday for breakfast, lunch and coffee and 8:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday. You can find them on Facebook here.
