In what will soon become a number of local fresh market offerings (blog post to come), the Kyilla Community Farmers’ Market, located on the ground adjacent to Kyilla Primary School in Clieveden Street, North Perth, will host it’s first market this Saturday the 8th of June from 8:30am to 11:30am. Entry is free and the market will operate every Saturday come rain, hail or shine. Amongst the stalls will be freshly roasted coffee, locally gorwn fruit & veg, meat, bread and a range of specialty products from local providores – the aim being to have a “paddock to plate” approach to the market’s offerings. To help local not for profit groups and organisations, a small number of free stalls are available to book each week for fundraising (think Sausage Sizzle or Egg & Bacon rolls!). I’m looking forward to getting there this Saturday and hope it gets a lot of local support – don’t forget to BYO shopping bags!
