An article in the 8 September edition of the Perth Voice quotes City of Stirling council officers as saying that the State Government’s planned Light Rail Network may delay its own proposed Dianella Centre Plan. The plan aims to convert the under-utilised and underwhelming space around Dianella Plaza into a space that “fosters local community, lifestyle and economic opportunity” by significantly increasing and improving the amount of entertainment, community, residential, business and transport facilities within the area. Let’s face it, Dianella Centro and the surrounding space could be so much more and a revitalised and enhanced Centre would do much to improve the local amenities for residents as well as enhance investment and property prices. Here’s hoping the City and Transport Authority can work through the issues quickly so that this much needed development can commence as soon as possible.
