The City of Stirling has added another community enhancement to our local suburbs, this one being the Dianella Playspace off Light Street, Dianella.
The playspace caters to a wide range of ages, with a shaded area with slides for littlies as well as a larger naturalistic playground with a climbing wall and separate basketball court for the older ones.
Once my boys (9&10) and their friends had had their fill of the playground and basketball court, they took their footy and soccer balls to the adjacent oval for a game. Before you knew it, they’d managed to spend 3.5 hours there without complaint.
The playspace has BBQ’s and two undercover areas. You may want to bring your own folding chairs or blankets to sit on as there isn’t a huge amount of shade and most of the fixed bench seats are in the sun. Hats and sunscreen are a must. Toilets are located a little distance away across the other side of the oval so it’s probably best to accompany the kids if they need to visit them.
Overall, this is a really lovely addition to the area and another great community space created by the City of Stirling. Pack a picnic, bring a take-away coffee and sit back and relax whilst the kids burn off some energy and have fun outdoors. Bliss.
