The 2013 Beaufort St Festival look likes being the best one yet, with more food, fashion, art, music and fun than ever before.

In addition to all the wonderful stalls and offerings from local vendors, the festival team have put together an exciting and eclectic program of happenings that will keep festival goers amused and entertained for hours.

There’s art…

In what I think is a great move by the organisers, art has been given even more prominence in this years event.  Keep a look out for projections, planets that move, a photographic exhibition, sparkles and crystals, an urban art wall and some unusual ceilings. Then there’s the cheeky burlesque flashmob, circus performers and pop-up art shows and installations that will be roaming through the festival – wow.

And food…

For food there’s the Bouncing Orange Food Stage where there will be cooking demonstrations throughout the day, competitions, and the launch of the Festival’s very own cookbook – Recipes and Ramblings. You know you won’t go hungry on the day as there will be the normal plethora of food stalls, cafes and restaurants to choose from.

For Families…

Families are catered for at the kids party happening at the St Albans Family Area at St Albans Church, the SuperChem Scrapyard where they can paint old cars, build sculptures and make kites, or the McKenzie Chemist Kids Zone where they can watch a magic show, try kids yoga or have their  face painted.

Fashion…

If you’re into fashion, there’s the pop-up STM Floating Catwalk, the full STM Fashion Stage at bamBOO and a showcase of wearable art on the BSF Community Stage at 12:15.

Music and Entertainment…

This year there will 4 music stages located throughout the festival featuring no less than 36 acts playing hourly sets from 12:00 to 9:00pm as well as Streetbound, which celebrates 10 years of Southbound with a DJ spinning tunes from 12:00 to 10:00pm  in the Queens Hotel carpark.

Collapse and relax…

And, if after all that you find yourself getting overloaded, you might bump into me hanging out at the Beaufort Realty Open House (a big air-conditioned tent with bean bags and some other stuff!) on Harold Street.

But wait, there’s more! But for that you’ll need to check out the full programme of events at the Beaufort Street Festival website. See you there!
