A haven for students and switched-on fashionistas, Op Shops, thanks also to an increased focus on waste reduction and recycling, are the new black. My husband is a dedicated op shopper (he almost never buys new) and they are our go-to when it comes to costumes for parties and themed events.
Here are my 5 to try:
Masonic Charity Outlet (Mount Lawley)
772 Beaufort Street,
Mount Lawley
Open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm
Located next to Good Sammy’s (below) and specialising in men’s & women’s designer labels, shoes and accessories.
768 Beaufort Street,
Mount Lawley
Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm
Sunday 12pm to 4pm
A massive store full of all sorts of second-hand goods where you can get lost for hours.
46 Eighth Avenue,
Maylands
Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm
Stocking clothes & bric a brac, this is a Maylands institution that’s been serving the community for years. New stock arrives weekly and you can also drop donations directly off at the shop.
203 Guildford Road,
Maylands
Open Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm
Saturday 9am to 5pm
You can’t miss this store – look for the bright red facade with white love hearts! Bursting with all the good stuff and friendly staff too.
428 Fitzgerald Street,
North Perth
Open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Saturday 9am to 1pm
Known for its vintage and designer clothing plus some great bric a brac. Always good for a browse if you’re catching up for a coffee at one of the myriad cafes nearby.
61 Woodrow Ave (rear building),
Yokine
So I’ve snuck this one in. Rather than a permanent shop front, this is a pop-up op shop with regular Upmarket/Garage Sales with fantastic bargains – including top-end clothing brands, shoes and homewares. Follow them on FB for event dates.
Have I missed your fave? If yes, let me know!
Happy bargain hunting!
